Japanese Rice Paper Umbrella

This umbrella is made of authentic rice paper. Hand-painted and detailed in gold and white ribbons, pearls, and gemstones this piece of art is one of a kind. The umbrella comes inserted into a foam stand that is covered in a gold-colored material to complement the umbrella. This umbrella has a hand-carved wooden handle from which a loop of twisted pearls hangs. This allows versatile ways of displaying this piece. It can be opened wide and mounted in the corner between two walls or hung from this loop upside down from the ceiling or a wall of your choice. The top crown of the umbrella is surrounded by large and small white and cream-colored pearls accented with silver flowers topped with large white pearls. From each silver flower, a gold ribbon hangs down to the edges of the paper which is painted and sealed in bronze paint. In between each piece of gold ribbon, a white ribbon of wired tulle material trails down to meet the gold underneath the umbrella. Miniature white pearls cascade down the paper next to the ribbon and are decorated with flowers and pearls as well. Underneath the umbrella gold and white ribbon can be seen with strings of white pearls accented with silver flowers and white pearls to the tip of the bamboo spokes in the center. The wood handle is covered in gold braid and strings of pearls that wind their way to the white ribbon at the top. This umbrella can open like a typical umbrella and when you push up underneath the mechanism clicks the umbrella into the open position and holds it that way.
